I was cutting down the valve guides on a set of vortec heads today and I noticed it seemed like I couldn't keep the cutter seated. Its a Comp-4726 cutter.... any ideas what could be happening? I have always set the drill to a slow speed and used lots of cutting oil when I used this.
Thanks everyone!
No offense, but did you have the correct pilot installed? That's the only thing I can think of that would keep it from being square since the carbides look good. Comp shows an 11/32 and 3/8 I think.

I was watching some youtube videos on cylinder head machining and noticed a lot of guys use a bounce spring under neath their cutters. Could this have something to do with it?
