MARTINSR One event pops into my head anytime the subject comes up. I was going through my divorce 30 years ago and I would take my kids for long drives over to the coast in my Gran Sport with the top down, just long nice drives. I was at a beautiful little town at a gas station and with my brain filled with the divorce stuff (overwhelmed) I pulled the radiator cap off for some reason. HOLY CRAP my hand was fried! I had to drive the rest of the say with a cold can of soda in my hand that I wasn't even drinking, an unopened can. I bought a few on the trip to "ice" my hand.

boothboy WE HAVE A WINNER!!!!

John nailed it. It is a tool for removing hot radiator caps.
I personally used a set of large channel lock pliers to keep that surge of scalding hot coolant from poaching my fingers. We did have a\this tool at the radiator shop I worked at.

That one was harder than I thought.
it would be.
