Next up is the Ford Explorer rear axle swap! The short side axle and tube swap makes them the perfect fit for a early round body Falcon! I have a spare sitting in my shop in 3.73 posi, with an extra short side axle. Our local Pick N Pull has half price holidays, so got one for $104, plus $10 for the spare axle! Just in case the BBC tears up my existing 8.8 Ford!

Looks like my pistons are about .050 down. I'll be doing more measuring to verify, but it will have to wait a few weeks, I think.
I'm in the process of building an engine too and it seems the manufacturers have taken it upon themselves to change the pin location to put pistons lower in the cylinders. Might be because of the crap gas we have now days. I ended up taking my builders advise and going stroker, which allows him to spec the pin location for the block. It will have flat tops with near zero deck height.

Walked past my boat today...

On a brighter note, I got 3 sets of stairs in place so far.
Should get the last set in place later this evening.
Then need to build all the walls under them this weekend as insulators are supposed to show up Monday.

cozwurth Finished up installing the front window in my camper. Now it's finally sitting back in my driveway. It's raining here, so I'll find out in the morning if I fixed the leak or not. My new welding helmet came in, so of course I had to try it out. I put a few more tacks in the patch panel on the Chevelle. Man, it's a wonderful thing to be able to see what I'm welding! I also pulled the wrapping off my 327 to check the pistons to see how far down in the hole they are. Not happy with what I found there.

Too Many Projects Tuesday, I made some "feet", if you will for my trailer ramps. The side channels always sink into my gravel driveway and then ramps tip and fall off the trailer. I have been using them upside down for several years and the tires have to fit between the channels on that side. Now the ramps should stay stable and I can drive on the level side of the ramp. Only took 4 years to get to that "someday" project...

Then I swapped out the snow tires on my HHR for summer tires. MAN I love having a tire machine and computer balancer...
