Well furst get yerself some rod at the steel yard..I suspect 1/4 or 5/16 will be fine...make a bracket out of some square tubing to weld to the firewall with a hole in it..then make two more to attach to the rad support..weld thos on..good to go..then cut your rod to length and thread the ends for nuts and install them..this ought to keep ya occupied for a couple of hours in the shop.. About a one or two beer job...

What kind of car? There are factory brackets that go at the firewall on most every car I have seen, do you have them for yours? Then at the front, depending on the make model and year there are brackets that mount to the fenders or rad support others have them built into the radiaor, what kind of car do you have?

There isn't going to be any kind of tutorial on doing it because you have a miss match of stuff. Can you see where the old ones were mounted from the back? I seriously doubt that they finished off and painted the back side, you should be able to see exactly where they were.

That being said you want to put them where it's pretty strong. If you can't put them right where they were for some reason you need to put them near folds in the metal or near where to panels are welded together or something that makes it a little stronger.

If you can't find a place take some photos (full frame of the entire firewall inside and out). So we can give you some tips.

Is this truck fenderless or hoodless? Because to align the hood and fenders you may need those rods out further apart just as they had it when new.

Well there you go, there isn't much to think about then. Well supported at the firewall and on the radiator so it is held steady. I would put it at a "V" shape narrower at the rad but many cars didn't do it.
