Power window switch
I also bought dorman 1 and 2 button switches 901-016 1nd 901-017 I am trying to wire the two windows with them. I can make the driver side work, both switches but can't get the passenger side to work with the single switch. I tried your diagram but the single switch will not work. What am I doing wrong?
Can you help?
Thanks my email is firstname.lastname@example.org

|AvantiTom||Ugh.. not easy finding connectors to fit these Dorman switches. I assume there are multi-pin sockets that slip on them, but I'd like to find something to fit the pins individually. Any ideas? Thanks!|

This thread has helped me enormously!
I'm attempting to modify my '63 Studebaker Avanti's power window system with newer and stronger motors for the 15lb windows. With newer, two wire motors, I had to get new switches and Dorman was clueless when I emailed them for a schematic.
Thanks so much, Guys! This info will really help.

I used 1983 Chevy C10 pu (which used these switches) as a basis, and found the wiring diagram for you ... see attached.

The attached schematic should help when you OHM the switch.

dorman 49241 & 49242 switch wiring
bought Dorman pwr window switches(chrome square) for my coupe project, 1 single button switch for the trunk (5 pin and 1 two button for the pwr windows). I bought AC Delco sockets and pigtails for the switches. Each pigtail has 12 ga. wires all the same color. I ohmed out the single switch and thought I had it correct but promptly fried both the switch and connector when I tried it.
Does anyone have a schematic showing the hot/ground/motor connections for the double (6 pin switch)? The pin orientation is:
O O O O
The pin location looks correct as I type but when I preview the post the bottom 2 are out of position. The lower posts are direct below the corner posts on the top row.
The 4 pins on the top row all have continuity between them when the switch is in the normal (at rest) position.
In case anyone needs them the ACD part #s for the pigtails are PT188 and PT 254.
