1 Does that mean my alternator is grounded via the alternator case?
Yes, it might work without the extra wire or you might need the dedicated ground wire
2. I guess the red wire marked "alternator power" in my wiring kit is for the BAT + connection nut?
Not Familiar with your kit, so I don’t know what that wire is for but somewhere in your instructions/wiring diagram it should tell you
3. Is the L-connection "to charge indicator" on your drawing for the dashboard warning lamp?
Yes
4. If so, is the L-connection +power? So the second wire on the lamp must go to ground? Or is it the other way around?
Start with a switched +12v source into one side of the indicator lamp, the other side of the indicator lamp goes to the “L” terminal. The way it works……. With the key on the lamp gets +12v and the other side gets a ground from the internal voltage reg/rectifier or “L” terminal on the alt, when you start the car and the alt starts putting out juice, the internal grounds is removed and is replaced by +12v ….. since the lamp no longer has a ground it goes out
5. Is the S-connection "from ignition circuit" on your drawing same as "alternator excitor wire" in mye wiring kit?
NO, The “L” terminal should be the exciter wire. The “S” terminal is the sense wire, it tells the alt how much juice to put out, depending on the elec demands of the system
The CS130 alternators need a good ground path to the rear part of the case to prevent damage to the regulator. There is a TSB out on this. If your mounting bracket doesn't bolt to the back of the case somehow, then run a ground strap from the threaded boss on the rear case to the block.
An update on this one.
Malied with the support at EZ wiring and they confirmed that this drawing is the correct way to wire the C 130D alternator w/internal fan together with the EZ wiring kit.
Remember that you must have the warning lamp OR some kind of resistance. I don't know if the wiring is identical if you choose to use resistance instead of warning lamp.
There are no grounding point at the back of the case.
Can't read my own pic.....lol it's the "I" terminal not the "S" terminal
