My Hot Rod just happens to be an AC Cobra kit.

So I was thinking of a way to build a powder coating oven, from the cheap end I could think of and, came up with converting an old Freezer into an PC Oven.
So if you are interested, you can follow my Photo journals in this forum. To see what I have done so far and, what will be the out come at the end of my project.

Thanks Guy's and Gal's and be Safe!

Hey ogre's!

Yes! I saw your photo Journals and, checked it out.....cooool a lot of really nice cars. Nice work too!!!

I have side pipes I want to do so, 2 ovens are still not long enough for me.
I've got 3 sets of rims to do for the family and, I want to do a bunch of parts for my AC Cobra kit that I built in 2001.

I though of using a wardrobe unite, for when I do my powder coating with a catcher at the bottom to collected the unused powder. The wardrobe unite I bought cost 20.00 bucks and it is quite large. Good for coating.

All post it when I get the oven finished and, am ready to do some PC coating. I haven't done any PC yet...still new to the idea.....but I love the look and protection it does.

What preps do you do after blasting? Any pre clean solvents that works best? Or have you found better stuff that work great...I've been looking around for something cheaper, then what the coating company sell.

Still doing research on the whole thing. Just don't want to PC and then have to strip it....not cool.

Thanks Buddy.

ogre powder coat center for an ogre

recycled 30'' range with the eyes removed. i run the oven on a 20 amp 220 v circuit
room enough to pc 15x8 rims with plenty room to spare
also did my brackets, coil springs, diff cover, backing plates, etc...
you could also double the size by screwing 2 ovens together
the oven has heaters and thermostat already built in
i use the eastwood basic pc gun
total cost for the oven $0

Hey poncho62! Yes! I looked on Kijiji for an old freezer and, found it for $90.00 it weighed a ton which didn't help as it was in the basement of a tenet that was renting the condo.

All try to move it to the Garage-tools forum, but not sure how to do that.
Thanks Buddy and be safe.
