|Mach1460||Crushed glass has no silica like sand and other media do. Not that id want to breathe the dust but it says on the bag it contains no silica|

I would be more worried about the silica dust being generated from the blasting than I would the grass.

lava rock glass
There are a couple extinct Volcono cones north of us and now houses built on the sides, lots of natural glass in the soil. My Wife says the glass sand gets tracked inside and wears out those peoples carpets very fast,

I blasted some parts in the driveway years ago. swept it up when I was done. WRONG. The first time it rained the drive turned brown from the metal particles turning to rust. Some lessons are learned the hard way but never forgotten.

|monster76||all i can say is don't worry to much about the lawn, it is to small of particle to do anything just make sure your pets if you have any don't go sniffing around there and if you can try and catch it with a tarp so you can dispose of it properly, more importantly make sure you have a good respirator designed for that type of use and good eye protection that glass can sure do some damage to the body|

|S10 Racer||It in itself may not be hazardous, the items it carries with it during blasting can be. I would use a recovery system or at least hang tarps around the work to catch most of it and then sweep it up when done and reuse - Recycle|

Crushed glass, bad for lawns/outdoors?
I picked up a spot blaster and am using crushed glass media on my bronco project. Are there any major cons to using this outdoors, say in a driveway or outback?? I dont see how it could hurt anything, its too small to say "pop" a tire or do damage to anything like that... Just curious about if it could harm a lawn or something...? Any cons or reasons not to shoot out doors rather than make a mess in my garage???
