2000 mustang

hi I'm putting a 350 Chevy engine in a 2000 mustang body wondering if I can control it with ford ecm

Probably. But It could get to be pretty complicated. Depending on what type of system you run, throttle body,or port injected, and if port- sequential or batch fire,then you probably would need a custom tune to get all the fuel and timing algorythms close enough to run right.
Not to mention the firing order differences to reconfigure the wiring for the injectors, differences in sensors , sensor values,etc. Also, the difference in the camshaft position would be a problem yo overcome. On the FORD HO system(sequential) the distributor uses a narrow tooth on the cylinder #3 blade in the dizzy. The ECM sees that and uses that to sync the cam position signal (generated in the ECM with the signal off the narrow blade)to determine which injector to fire in the sequence (keeping in mind it sprays on the intake stroke and needs to know cam posistion to fire the correct injector at the correct time)
If you are thinking of a newer coil on plug system , well ...add more complications.
