Here is my daily, or it will be once I have the transmission back in. Have been working the past 6 weeks refinishing furniture for my daughter moving out of the dorms and into an apartment, then hauling it from Dallas to Cincinnati. Now that that is out of the way, hopefully I can get back on the transmission.

48 Plymouth Club Coupe with a 57 model 230 flathead. Edgy finned aluminum head, Fenton Cast Iron Headers, Offy Intake, Carter Webber Carbs and a HEI Distributor from and S10. All in front of a 53 model Borg Warner R10 Overdrive transmission and 4.10 gears.

My DD is not very exciting but good solid rust free Caminos are getting less common. Actually it is a Caballero but the last time I went to the auto parts store the guy behind the counter said "what is a Caballero? A Toyota?" I just tell everyone it is an El Camino now :drunk:

Daily driver

You guys dug up a dinosour, I started this thread last year I think and had a lot of fun with it lots of interesting daily rides. I am glad several of you let it come up for air.
I can't see the post and if I read one of your user names and blinked my eyes twice I wouldn't remember the names because of stroke damage. I do know one of you are from Fairmont and one from Augusta. I was over the construction of several new schools and numerous remodels and additions all over Gordon county. I have owned over fourty really nice, high performance and muscle cars and street machines. These cars were usually three to ten years old when I owned them and back then there wasnt a Walmart in Carollton or malls in Douglasville or Rome and people didn't drive more than 3,000 to 4,000 miles per year. A few of these were cars I bought new and a few were bought from the original Owners and they were 6-Z28'S 2 were new, a 69 and a special order 93, 9- SS Impalas 2 were original 409 cars, 1 was a red 67 SS Impala factory 427, 4-speed, 4:11 rear end power brakes no other options. As heavy as these cars are I pulled the front wheels probably 2 feet off the ground and collapsed the entire front suspension and the GM warranty paid for most of it. This was on the stock SS rallye wheels and whatever tires came on a GM cars back then, Oh fourteen of these cars were Corvettes. These do not include another 30 to 40 trading cars that I probably only kept a week or two.
But I am also blessed that I still have the same Wife for fourty five years and ahe nursed me back to being able to get back up going and walking several times when Doctors said I would never get any better.
Last Oct. in N.C. on the Maxton Mile I set a landspeed record eight month after geting out of a wheelchair that I had been in for over two years. This past April I set two more landspeed records on the Ohio Mile and I was in an article in the July HotRod Magazine. My truck is being prepaired now to go back to Wilmington, Ohio next April if my health holds out, I have had pnuemonia for four weeks and believe me when I say that I have ben stuck about seven time, taken two bottles of antibiotic, two packs of steroids, taking breathing treatments four times per day etc. and Thursday when Doc listened to my lungs he just shook his head. Now they are talking about doing endoscopic surgery and clean all of the junk and trash out of my lungs so keep me in yout prayers those of you that do and if not keep a good thought for me.
MY current rides are my daily driver hotrod 37 Chevy truck that will run a lot faster than you would want to drive it, a 98 C5 Corvette coupe with 21,000 miles headers, x-pipe, ported throttle body, dual cone Volant cold air induction, and HP dyno tuneup, my 03 SS Silverado landspeed race truck making 440 hp with no cam or head work, and a 69 SS Rallyesport, Indy Pace car Camaro convertible that has always been garaged.
I was going to thank everyone that posted, didn't mean to give you a life history, thanks.

Daily driver

Thanks John it's good to see familiar name out there, I saw where deckofficer had posted and I bet MartinSr, Cobalt327, boothboy are all lurking out there somewhere. I haven't had as good of a year this year compared to last. I had to have another catherization about three months ago after flunking my yearly Echo and then a chemical stress test. I have seven partial blockages from 40 to 60% that are causing fatigue and some chestpain under stress but Medicare and the supplement I have want pay for a stint or angioplasty unless a blockage is 70% so I have a chest full of teenage heart attacks I am raising to maturity. I have had pneumonia for over four weeks and have had six shots, two bottles of strong antibiotics, two packs of steroids, breathing treatments four times daily, inhalers and whatever it takes to stay out of the hospital because if I had to be admitted I am afraid I would come out not being able to walk again. I think I used to be hospitalized around four times a year but I have gone two years without having to go.
I still love my hotrods though, all four of them and them and the love of my family and good friends.

Whats your daily driver

I bet if we posted a strange picture of a chunk of twisted steel and ask what's this trivia piece that fell off of my daily driver we would hear from Brian and bb and they would tell us what museum they saw that exact piece in. I tried playing trivia quizz with them for a while and I was able to answer a few Corvette questions and I asked one Vette question that I think it took them a couple of days to answer but I wasn't in the same league with them. I wish my memory was 1/2 what Brians is.
I feel them watching now I think!!!

I didn't see this post, Garrell I am so sorry to hear about your ill health, my goodness that is the pits. On the Trivia, ask away man, we often google the answer too but try to answer out of memory first. Get those questions coming!

Here is my DD. 1989 Silverado, former TBI 305/700R. I couldn't get the idle leveled out to my satisfaction so I pulled the dist. and intake and it's now a 305 with HEI and old cast iron 4-bbl intake bolted to the late model heads with a decent 750 quadrajet that I bought off a feller on Craigs List for $25.00. It had been on his Pontiac Catalina sittin in his field for 8yrs. I cleaned it up, no kit at all, with some brake cleaner and it's been running good on my truck for better than a year now. I think it's easier on gas than the throttle body was to. http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=69540&stc=1&d=1354463043

My DD '80 Malibu/229 V6/TH350C is a piece, but it's MY piece. In another 30 years they'll say it has 'patina'. Now it could be said the original paint's kinda shot, the only time it looks halfway decent is when it's wet! lol But no rust and no accidents (had it since 12K miles). I have a Vortec engine for it but it's not together yet.

Garrell, shame they're doing you that way, but the comment that you're raising teenage heart attacks IS funny! Keep your chin up, It'll work out, I'm sure.

Thanks for the kind words, Brian. I originally bought it for my Mom. One of those deals where I could never sell it, it's a member of the family now.

Not to get too far OT, but do you remember when the Chevy II wagons were the schitz in the lower Stock classes? IIRC they got a pretty hefty weight break over the 2-door cars plus better weight distribution.
