Yeah. I really don't have the room for this, but its so unique and the price is excellent for being in the heart of the rust belt (1500). When my dad was in KS years ago, there was LOTS of this stuff kicking around. Now there is less and with the internet, everyone thinks they have big money sitting there (those American Picker idiots don't help our mutual cause either).
AMBR cars are interesting. Some are classically beautiful, others are very trendy and quickly become out of fashion or even weird.

There is a T roadster for sale In Utah for about 20 K that won the AMBR and was on magazine covers posted on KSL classified. Most AMBR cars sell for a lot more. I told my wife if I had that much money in the bank I would buy it and sell the 2 T bucket projects I have.

That IS Tognatti/Tognetti's. I was on my phone and some of the text didn't come through. Originally when I posted the picture, I gave you credit for mentioning it. The color is cool, the rims are....quirky by todays standards. Apparently Gene Winfield was the builder. Very cool guy and an interesting sense of style.

The full fendered roadster looks like the one Don tognetti built in the 60's . I think Don won the AMBR at the oakland roadster show. some of the early T coups had suicide doors and a smaller trunk.

matt167, that's a 26/27. The pre '26 coupes aren't quite different.
My Grandpa had a stock 1924 coupe that we restored. The body is basically a wooden frame with metal nailed to it. It does have some metal inner structure, but not nearly as much as the 26-27 Coupes. That's why you see so many more 26-27's they just held up that much longer over the years.
The Model T Coupes prior to 1926 were quirky looking, mostly due to the box shaped trunk. It's easy to understand why they call a trunk, a trunk, when you look at these coupes.
A full fendered pre '26 Model T Coupe resto-rod would be cool, I don't think I have ever seen one, but again, because of the trunk, it'll be a bit off the beaten path.
The bucket style rod shown below is one of the few I have seen with the pre 26 trunk.. but it is more of a "coupster", a coupe with the roof cut off.
And the AMT model kit might help give you some food for thought too.

I`m not sure when Ford stopped using wood inside but the model T`s all had wood reinforcement inside the bodys.

All model T's stock have the same wheelbase and minor changes in the stock frames. usually T buckets have the body slid back on the frames. I remember Don Tognatti;s award winning roadster with stock fenders and running boards.

1924 T 5w Coupe
Friend of a friend kind of thing; I heard about a '1924 5 window T Coupe' available. The complete body, 4 steel fenders, steel running boards and the chassis, with front and rear axles, no wheels. I'm trying to get time to go look at this, but Im having trouble finding pictures of these done as hotrods, mostly just some 'rat rod' with the top whacked at a wicked rake and channeled so much its un-driveable. This should be the same essentially as a 23 T Bucket with a roof, windows doors etc.?? I THINK '24 has a steel firewall and they did away with the wood kits in the doors. I do know this has the 2 piece windshield and would have the tank under the seat, not in the turtledeck area.
Does anyone know if I can use a Total Perf. T Bucket type chassis, or is the coupe significantly longer than the bucket? I believe the same guy was trying to sell a Total chassis several weeks ago. Perhaps he was trying to combine the 2 and something went awry. If so, is there something Im missing? Only reason I ask is I never see the mid year coupes, just the 'phonebooth' coupes and the 26/27 coupes.
Its a bit of a drive for me, so if there's a very good reason why these aren't hotrodded, let me know. I casually mentioned it to a T resto-guy and he looked at me like he wanted to eat my soul. Punk kids and their jalopies.
I'd more than likely use my 283 & a 2004r or T350; coilovers in the rear, solid drop axle up front probably with a leaf spring. Full fendered with chrome tube type nerf bars front and back. Maybe Cobalt Blue, white interior and more than likely painted steelies with caps. Definitely radial tires, not sure about whitewalls or not.
