|deadbodyman||Hold on a minute. You WANT to sand it or any sealer to get the dirt out or at least nib it ,if you paint over it unsanded, the trash will pop right through when you cut and buff.|

|swvalcon||I agree on the reducer as a sealer. I always reduce it if using as a sealer at least 30%. I also let it set for 1/2 to a hour before spraying if reduced. I never spray any thicker then needed as a sealer. At this point you really shouldn't need any more filling.|

I use a 1.8 tip and reduce the epoxy 10%,
it usually comes out slick, like this.

|Mach1460||yea, thats what I meant. I did two coats over bare metal unreduced. At first I was not going to apply a seal coat but I ended up blocking though in a few places so now im going to shoot a sealer coat. (Reduced of course)|

|mitmaks||You do want to reduce it up to 50% when sealing, it will flow out very nice.|

|Mach1460||Ya i don't think it was enough to hurt anything just a little different than i was used to. I didn't reduce it at all. But I'm using it as a sealer after blocking my 2k. Ill reduce it this time and see how it goes. Thanks guys|

|mitmaks||It's probably the way you're shooting it. It lays down well for me. I reduce it up to 50% by volume with appropriate thinner. If you don't like way it turns out you can wet sand it and shoot your paint over that.|

|swvalcon||depends on how fast it sets. I've had it show a slight texture but not enough to hurn anything. If you dont feel good about it give it some time and scuff sand it.|

How should SPI epoxy lay down? Smooth/dry?
Should SPIs epoxy lay down real smooth and glossy?? or have a slight texture to it?? I just finished block sanding and once i get everything cleaned up I can shoot my sealer coat of reduced epoxy before I shoot base in the AM. Seems like when I shot my initial coat of epoxy it was glossy enought to see imperfections but had a very slight texture to it (im talking very little) I shot some 1k primer on a small patch job I did a long time ago and I remember it to come out very smooth. Maybe a gun problem?? or maybe nothing at all?
