disc brakes conversion

Just get a proportioning valve off a later model Camaro as long it is a disc/drum setup. You have to have the proportioning valve or else all the pressure would go to the front brakes.

williambavila I have been doing some reading and the dist,blocks are pretty much worthless after 40 psi. Can I just run a line from front port on mcyl and split to each of the front wheels? Then from rear port to rear wheels? Is this something that will work?

302 Z28 FWIW if you salvage parts from a donor car get the distribution block as well as the power booster. If they are bad be sure to get replacements per the donor car.

V8&4spd A 69 should have a distrubution block. The drum brake and disc brake cars used the same block. There is a seperate hold off valve for the rear brakes on the brake line coming off the master cylinder. You can add a prop valve or use one of those adjustable valves for the rear brakes.

williambavila do you have any clue if a manual brake 1969 Camaro would have had a vale on it for brakes or not? I got this car in pieces and do not know if they sold this part too.lol I have a drum brake car and just need to know if it would have had a proportioning valve or not?

1967-1972 A-body (Chevelle, Cutlass, etc)
1967-1969 F-body (Camaro/Firebird)
1968-1974 X-body (Nova, Ventura, etc)

The spindles on these cars are all the same, but you need to use your existing bolt-on steering arms. You can also convert your drum spindles to disk spindles with simple machining and save money:

Hey guys I am wanting to convert 1969 camaro brakes from drum to disc,does anyone know what years will work and what cars will interchange?
