|my87Z||the lunati 00012 specs are 246° @ .050" and 300° advertised with .515" lift and 108LSA. on the card it says the operating range is 2500-6500, which is crap, the true operating range of this cam is more like 3500-6500. if you use this cam i would recomend the 200cc platinum heads. you will greatly benifit from them at 4500rpm and up. with this cam you could also go with a 3500-3800 stall. go with a 4779 holley 750dp. as for the springs you will need to match the seat and open pressures that are recomended for the lunati 00012 otherwise you will wipe the lobes right out.|

Okay sorry wasn't sure on the dart heads if they were 180 or 185cc. They are the older ore platinums 180cc. Cam that I'm going to run until I can get a roller is the lunati 00012. Setup will be as follows
73 sbc .030" decked .015"
Forged bottom end with kb flat tops
Dart iron eagle heads 180cc 64cc
1.6 roller rockers
Valve springs still choosing
Victor jr w/ intake ports matched to the darts
Carb still choosing
Th400 Trans with shift kit
Stall still choosing

^^^^X2, change the cam now while you have the chance. personally i think the vic jr intake should go too, especially if you dont end up changing the cam and heads. now you mention a 3600 stall which means that you will want a cam with an operating range that starts around 3000-3200, this should put you at around 240° at .050 with around .550" on a hyd roller cam. Now i dont know of any DART 185cc intake runner heads, but i do know of the 180cc and the 200cc iron eagle heads. the 180cc heads are their older iron eagle (pre platinum) design where as the 200cc are the newer iron eagle platinum heads. the platinum heads have much better exhuast ports and are quite a nice head. i used a set of a 383 i have which dyno'd out at 512hp/492tq (I had some clean up work done to them though). I would suggest the 200cc platinum heads if you go with the 3600 stall, cam to match it and keep the vic jr intake. other option would be if you change the stall down to around 2800-3000, swap out the vic jr intake to a perf rpm, go with a cam in the 225-230° at .050" range and around .500" lift hyd roller cam with the 180cc DART heads.
The first setup i mentioned should be good for 440-460hp (as long as everything else is matching up as well) and should have a 3200lbs S-10 running 11.8-12.20 in the 1/4m. the second set up should be good for around 400-410hp (agains as long as everything matches up well) and should take the S-10 to about a 12.60-12.70" in the 1/4m.
personally i would go with the first set up since you already have the intake and stall.

|vinniekq2||If the engine is not in the truck,change the cam first.That way you can get a good seal on the pan,check everything before installation.If you are going to put the heads on at the same time maybe get a gasket set and check everything|

|vinniekq2||the iron eagle heads are quite good.They do need some work to clean them up though.If you put a small roller cam with those heads I see no reason it wont go into the 12s.Maybe not the first day.dont buy a cam because of the cool names,pounder/dracula/monster,etc buy what works for the situation|

SBC -> S10 build
Hello. Would like to introduce myself since I am new to this forum. Names Jake but you can call me Bonez . Anyways, I have a sbc 355 on the way, forged bottom end, cam, heads yada yada yada. Couple questions on the build and you like to hear some of your opinions. Don't go too hard now. Just got the motor and it isn't here yet so I haven't seen the actual build sheet yet. This is what the seller told me.
1973 z28 block(high nickel) Bored .030 over
Forged crank w/ forged I-beam rods
KB Hydrastatic flat top pistons w/ moly rings
Mutha thumpr cam w/ lifters
Stock 202 heads
Okay so, the stock 202 heads are just coming with the motor and were not ran. Time slips on this setup with different set of 202 heads I'm assuming ran 2.263 60ft 9.438 1/8th 14.484 1/4th @ 98.79 MPH in a 3rd Gen Firebird. No stall th400, has a shift kit, had stock gears and I'm assuming on street tires. Pretty doggy if you ask me. I know the Thumpr cams were really made for sound and that I understand. Hopefully with my additions will help this cam out a bit. Heres a list of my upgrades I will be adding, mind you, this motor trans setup will be dropped into a 1987 s10.
Dart Iron Eagle 185cc 64cc heads
Dual valve springs(no specs)
650 4Bbl Holley
Hopefully also get that Thumpr cam swapped out
4.10 gears 7.5" rear end
