Crosley you will not feel the shifts while car is on jack stands, unless you load the rear wheels with the use of the brakes.

gunsaler111 Youll love this one!
POS quickfuel 175 electric pump just gave out.Been on car two weeks while tuning, and never made it to the track! This will be the second one going back to summit...the first one leaked right out of the box, this one leaked a little as well.Guess Ill hit summit on the way to dakota tommorrow, and get a real pump!

Looks like the trans issue is on hold, but id still like some thoughts on the problems im haveing

gunsaler111 update....just went out and moved shifter lever by hand...no change.
I did notice while On jackstands that when I shifted up to 2nd the mph will rise as well as 3rd, but no shift is felt unless 2-1 or into reverse

gunsaler111 just went and bought a new modulator and replaced /rerouted the vacuum lines just in case.Put it on jackstands. The wheels are turning in 1-2-3 and neutral, reverse is fine. The only time I feel any kind of shift is when I downshift to first.I would say its stuck in first BUT, the 2-1 manual downshift feels normal.

If the 1-2 shift regulator in the 1-2 shift valve was seated crooked, what issues would that cause? My 1-2 shift valve was a little tough to get the roll pin back in(too tight?)
Leaving for north dakota in the a.m. hoping to get this resolved today. It IS the type 1 valve

I dont post often, but i do read and search like a madman!
Heres whats goin on.
I just installed a transgo 400pro full manual in my th400. Followed the intstructions to the letter.
I have reverse, and I have first, but when I shift up from 1 ,it seems to freewheel until I stab throttle and then it grabs first, then when I let out it seems to freewheel again(happens in second or third shifter position also). If I downshift back to first it has engine braking and goes in first like it "was" in second.
I have checked both modulators ive tried, and all associated vacuum lines, govorner is good(even though I shouldnt need it without auto shift).
I have adjusted shifter, and made sure the "rooster comb" is correct.
I have pulled the valve body 4 times and made sure I followed every step correctly.Gaskets are in correct positions,as well as checkballs
kickdown is not pluged in.
Fluid is good.No crap in pan.
I did go from a deep pan to a shallow pan.
It worked great before this.Im stumped and agrivated to say the least, any help is appreciated.

Need to add one detail...When I dropped the valve body the front servo dropped before I could see what order the parts go back in. I put the clip in the grove above the piston and below the spring cup ,this is the only order that made any sense.
