Hi,
this is my second post here regarding my setup, and hope that you help me here again
AGAIN
Small intro about my BMW engine for people who are not familer with BMW engines:
Engine : m50b25 (2.5L) stroked with forged internals to reach 3.0L, this engine have straight six cylinders with 84mm piston bore and 24 valves head, I boosted my engine with kind of big turbo, the power goal is to reach around 800hp.
I solved the clutch flywheel issue by getting ready made one.
Now, I want to place stronger transmission, BMW have good manual transmissions, but not rated for a high HP and torque numbers, I searched around and found Tremec tr-6060 with a very good price, I searched around for that gearbox, and found very contradicted information and looking for your help here guys.
I read that tr-6060 have the same internals of T56 Magnum, is that right?
The most important thing I read that it's rated for around 800ft/lbs of torque , and someone said it's ok to exceed that number as long as you don't power shift it!! for me I have after market ECU that enables me to perform WOT shifting, it will cut/retard the spark and enrich the fuel mixture, this way will be very easy on the gearbox and driveline while you are power shifting, so will the TR-6060 survive if I did this and had higher torque number? plus am welling to run Hoosier 8x26", so a burnout and hard start using launch control will be made.
For the fitting, yes, I will be able to fit it, but lots of fabrication will be needed, I have to replace the bell housing and make more room for the tr-6060 to fit.
So do you recommend it or what? know that I will not be able to get T56 or even T56 Magnum, cuz am living far from US, and the shipping for such things will be crazy insane.
Thanks in advance guys.
