I don't have any pictures, but i can give a brief description.
68-69 Chevy Nova (i forget off the top of my head)
2 door
tires still holding air
120k original miles
postless (no post behind door)
clean title
green
very little minimal exterior rust (maybe just a 2-3 spots of quarter sized bubbling)
no dents
no rear window
dash is bad
seats are good IIRC
floors could use some work, idk if they are all the way gone though
always garage kept for the last 20 years
original wheels, with the chrome ring around. they are paint matched from factory.
4 barrel holley carb, forget size.
Car ran like 6 years ago, but it was parked and put a new 4 barrel on it and it sat every since. Not one once of gas put though the carb
overall good car, but my buddy needs some cash and i told him i will help him out. What is the "general" resale value of a postless nova thats all original and that needs some repairs.
i honestly dont care to do the body work, repairs etc to sell it fixed and reconditioned. just trying to help a friend out and don't want to get myself in a bind.
Not actual car but same color and same wheels (just color matched)
Better get us a picture of it if you want us to help....too many variables without one.
You say "postless"?...That car in the picture has a post.....There were no 68-72 Novas that came without the post, so either you have the wrong car or the wrong year. Earlier Novas came as hardtops
Sorry for the delay, i checked the title. It is definitely a 1969, and it 100% has no post. With the front and rear seat of windows down. It's wide open. The picture above was for color reference.
Here are a zillion and one photos of 69 Novas you won't see a "post-less" or "hardtop" as they are commonly called. 1969 Nova - Google Search
You must have the wrong year or model in mind, or the car has been customized as they didn't make a 69 Hardtop Nova. There were no convertibles either, there were only two basic bodies, two door and four door. Some as you can see by the photos have chrome on the post between the door and the quarter glass, but there are none with no post there.
Since it would definitely be the ONLY 1969 2Dr HT Nova in existence, I'd instantly call the guys at Barret-Jackson about consigning it. Should go somewhere over ten Million bux!
Of course, if it isn't a Nova 2 dr HT, but actually IS a car that actually exists as a 2 dr HT, then the value would be a LOT less!
The only other possible explanation I could come up with would be a one-off custom, built as a 2 dr HT from a 2dr sedan.
I'd like to own that Nova myself...I'd park it beside my all original 67 Camaro 2 door post car with a short box. Just kidding, look at the car again, I agree with everybody, haven't ever seen a post Nova in those years.
I have the title in hand its a 69 nova. You guys are saying the is no such thing as a no post nova, but maybe im saying it wrong. The "post" is the B pillar... between the door and rear window. It has a cloth top or whatever fabric it is, and the rear and front window is down and there is no post there. If that is the correct post... Either someone chopped it off or idk whats going on...
Congratulations, glad you got the car. I love that body style and still maintain that all Novas of that era where post cars. PLEASE post (or "B" pillar) a bunch of pictures especially where the front and rear windows meet. I'd love to see the results of the potential "chop".
What kind of shape is the body in, any rust or damage? I think I can speak for everyone on this sight, we are all interested and extremely curious. How much did you end up helping your friend out with cash?
By the way, glad to see your back on the site, I was feeling kind of bad about the ribbing we gave you and thought we might have scared you off. That wasn't our intention, we where just having a bit of fun ( at your expense) and maybe got carried away. If I offended you, I apologize.
Again, PLEASE send pictures, I haven't stopped thinking of this since your first post.
From my understanding, this car was never touched. Only 2 owner, original and my friend. I don't have the car in my possession yet, it is still in his garage. I will grab pictures next time im over there. I paid 1,000$ for it. My father looked at it and he is the one who brought up it not having a post. As for the condition, i described it in an earlier post. It's not a gem, but body isnt that bad. its mostly the interior and the 1 rear window.
I'm so interested in seeing pictures of this car. Sounds like a steel of a deal. I'm going to do some checking but I have never seen nor heard of a 68 and up Nova without a post.
It's the sheet metal that's most important on these cars and that's what anyone buying or wanting a car like yours looks at first.
Cool......However, if I were you I would check the title against the vin numbers on this car. There is no way a stock 69 Nova is a postless hardtop.......If the title says Nova, either its the wrong year or the wrong type of car. Be careful.
Well okay, i feel like a real dummy. Me being 25, i don't know much about these cars. I totally got confused on what car was what... He has the 69 nova and a 69 lemans... he sold me the LEMANS@!!!!! not the nova... Hence the no post. He could have showed me a damned dodge dart and i wouldnt know the difference lol.
So now that is all figured out. I am kinda upset too lol. I thought i was getting the nova... but the lemans is still pretty kickass looking. Knowing this, could someone give me a general pricing info so i know how much to put this thing up for?
I have been looking at some pictures online, and if i don't sell it. I might end up doing the minor body work it needs and throwing a nice paint job on it (since i paint myself) and just keeping it. Kinda really like the car when its all cleaned up and shiny.
again... i am so sorry for my ignorance. i know nothing about older cars.

that is the color, and wheels that are on it. Just old and dirty and not mint like this one.
Don't think a thing of it, it's no big deal you aren't suppose to know every car. The GM "A" body is one of the best, most all around cars ever made. Do a little study on it and you may just keep it.
I can finally sleep....I even went and researched....Nobody is right all the time and I've made my share of errors. You still have a really cool car and should post some pictures....I love all those 60's early 70's cars and have soft spot in my heart for the Pontiacs.
69 lemans, you made out better kid..
novas are kool and all, but when they need floor work.. it's most likly more than just the floors..
the lemans, has a frame a real frame.. check that out.. if solid. you got a nice car.. it's the twin to the chevelle..
