I raced there in 70s and 80s when it was Class runs ,Not the dial in .I liked it much better showed the driver and builder skills , it is a 1000 ft track now ,,less than a 1/4 but more than a 1/8 so still some good times .
Our local track has been neutered by the city. They own the property, and decided after almost 40 years of operation to end all 1/4 mile drags, and make it 1/8 mile only. On top of that they only allow Wed. night bracket races, and Fri. night high school drags. I watch the Wed. night drags, but would never take my cars out there, as I hate bracket racing with a passion. It's 10 miles away, but I drive nearly 100 miles to a small mom and pop 1/8 mile strip to run. They've got such a neat little track, with an all volunteer work force. I enjoy supporting them.

matts37chev Dust collection on HF sandblasting cabinet.

That thing works GREAT, way better than I thought it would, stick the shop vac in the end and start sucking, with no worries about burning up your vacuum.

Please disregard the temporary duct tape, hose and clamps to follow.

Also a pic of the under cabinet lights I use to shine down in to it.

It seems like yesterday when I would uncap my headers and put the slicks on and then drive it to one of the fastest drag strips in America right in my home town. Now there's a strip mall with another Starbucks in it.

496CHEVY3100 Just noticed in the picture ,all the trash I had piled up to go in the truck for land field,, if you notice the blue barrel in photo that says metal only..shows how foolish I was, when I would replace cams and lifters,oi; pumps etc , I would throw the old ones in barrel for scrap metal ,when I started to load it to go to recyclers ,my cherry picker would NOT pick it up it would just raise rear wheels of the ground ,,had to unload by hand .

Yes, it certainly was worth watching! Haven't paid much attention to drag week, but that was a great video, and neat to see him hauling a trailer around from each strip!

dsraven hey, matts37. I have an elcheapo deluxe blasting cabinet from princess auto (our version of harbor freight up here in Canada) and I use an old built in vacuum cleaner from a house. it works pretty good and has the option to drop out the collection tray underneath to dump out the particles collected. it may have too much vacuum but thay is ok too. it makes it easy to get your hands into the gloves in the machine if they are being "sucked in" from the vacuum inside the box. I use shop vac hose to connect the box to the vacuum, and there is a baffle inside the box so th vacuum doesn't pick up everything close to the outlet of the box, just the dusty stuff.

matts37chev I am never sure what qualifies as "working on" or not.
I did get some parts during the day while at work, and did some homework on the computer when I got home.
Does that count?

Anyway, today I picked up some short (14ish") glasspacks from a co-worker, that I am going to try and use for tailpipe/resonators on the 38 to tone down the exhaust some.
It's has flowmasters, and they are way to loud for my tastes.

I have also been working on (collecting parts) for a dust collector on my HF sandblasting cabinet.
Originally I was going to use the airbox/filter from an ATV, but I just found a nice sized intake filter housing from a small Cat diesel on a roller that was being replaced at work.
So I am going to use it instead, pics to follow.
