Vortec 355 fuel injection question??

Hello,

I have a 5.7 350 vortec .30 over daily driver+occasional tow(less than 5 times a year)
with comp cams 08-300-8 (grind cs 262h-r12)
duration at .050 206(intake) and 210(exhaust)

Rebuilt the trans and just beefed it up a little.

I estimate I will be pushing between 325 hp and 350 hp.

Original mileage was 272,000

I am just finishing up the build and realized I did nothing with my fuel injection system. I "believe" I have a multi-port injection looks kind of like a spider legs.

Can I just clean this well and call it good?

Do I need to replace the whole system?

Are there any specific parts that you would recommend that I change or inspect?

Thanks for the input!

If it was me, I'd plan on doing some work on the system.

It's called Central Sequential Multiport Fuel Injection and it has problems, including the poppet valves and lines.

Instead of trying to give you a complete rundown, suffice to say there's info out there for replacing the poppets w/a better, less failure/leak prone set up.

One such set up is: http://www.napaechlin.com/upload/NAPAEchlin2/Documents/English PDFs/DYK_VortecFI.pdf

At the very least, check/clean what you have. A tutorial like Poor Mans Repair Guide For Chevy,GMC Vortec Fuel Injector spider or CSFI System will give you an idea of what's required.

Good luck.

Sounds like I am going to buy the conversion. For approximately $400.

Way more than I wanted to spend but might as well do it right the first time eh?

Just fyi.. I called my local chevy dealer.. $150 per injector to replace the old stuff!!!! Ridiculous

Thanks for the info guys.
