let me just say that in my unprofessional opinion, pontiacs are one of the most well designed engines. hands down.
sure theres always someone faster, who makes more power. but how many other manufacturers can you take a 326 head, slap it on a 455, keep in stock, a water pump, a distributor, fuel pump, oil pump, oil pan, valve covers, among other items, and slap it on my 326 my 389, my 400, or my 455?
when i was a super novice, please note that after 15 years, i am still a novice, i was plagued with a 1968 pontiac lemans sport. 354,th350,10bolt, and a bent frame. i bought that car for 500 bucks, drove it almost 50,000 miles with little or no problems, besides tires and brakes. after that car got me so far, i fell in love.
