Now, just think of how much you would have had to pay a plumber ... and spend a corresponding amount on something you WANT.

MARTINSR Well, I got a 75 foot snake from the rental place. My son and I went up on the roof and fed 70 feet of it down the vent. I have to say that is a wrestling match if I ever saw one! Getting it thru all the twists and turns, what a job. Anyway, came down and put a load in the wash on the highest water setting and it worked like a charm! WHOOO HOOOOO Thanks for all your support and ideas guys.

MARTINSR Yep, knowing me I will be running up there tonight, but right now I am BEAT.

boothboy Brian if the bucket fills you've eliminated the washing machine. That's not where the clog is. On to the roof!

MARTINSR I don't understand what I will find, the washer pumps water out and will fill a bucket RIGHT NOW I presume. Unless I had a time frame or amount of water it use to pump I have no idea what I am seeing now is normal or not.

boothboy Just to eliminate the washer as the culprit. Same principle as checking the fuse first before ripping all the wiring out.

MARTINSR What would running the drain into a bucket do? It will fill up the bucket, I know that, what am I missing? I am so friggin tired this morning after working on it over the whole darn weekend I don't think I am going to touch it until next weekend but I may get up there before then and check out the vent.

boothboy Brian just look at it this way, your getting a free education and some OJT in plumbing. You might find that you enjoy it and it might lead to a second career!

I'm sure that you have eliminated the washer by putting the drain in a bucket and running it through a drain cycle. If not you might want to.
The last time I had a drain problem a squirrel had headed down the vent pipe and got stuck. Ick!

If you remember my first thought was C4. It still sounds good to me.

MARTINSR That I can believe!
