On this day in 1957 !

American Bandstand first aired on National ABC TV. The Chordettes was Dick's first guest and this was the first Dance song played.

wretched ratchet I would imagine that Kenny is my favorite Fender picker these days. He's played with some greats and is now in Marty Stuart's Band, The Superlatives. He is so innovative and clean, it should be illegal.

painted jester The Jester is alive and well and busy as HELL!!! W.R. LOL

Heres some rockabilly from my youth!!!! that formed my outlook and love of cars and women

And later the war years for me When I hear these songs I can smell Vietnam like I was standing in a putrid rice paddy at this moment "Dirty Water" is the worse for me I was in a Navy hospital and heard it all the time now when I hear Dirty Water I can smell the ward and one nurse in particular that I liked! its funny how 50 years can go by and you still get those flashes of memory's from a song!!!

And today I look for new Rockabilly to listen to on the internet like :

And I cruise and break a few street laws on the sly and listen and feel young for those moments behind the wheel of my hotrod , but I get home look in the mirror and come back to the now!!@!! Bald, old, and mean !@!!!! LOL

wretched ratchet I watched a 2008 Movie yesterday called "Cadillac Records" - it was about the glory days of Chess Records and not too bad of a watch. Some of the acting wasn't Academy material but the soundtrack is awesome. Beyonce plays Etta James and that alone is worth the hour and 50 minutes of "eye candy" stare time. Here's a little teaser.
