496CHEVY3100 The engine I have I think is a 49 so it would have babitted rods and no pressure feed ,it is a fresh build but I am not going to use it,\it came out of a car then was built.

I am not sure if that can be done. 53 may have been a transition year. I just know they use a valve cover like a 48-52 even though they are full oil pressure. The straight shift in 53 was still a splash lube even though the Powerglide was full oil pressure.

Whether or not the 53 head will fit a later model block or not, I just don't know.

Brian, you need to check out the cars for sale on the H.A.M.B. and take a look at Marge's long lost sister. After seeing the asking price for her, you'll have a whole new appreciation of Marge. I agree with you on the Fairlane. I'd love to own one like it. What a fun driver it would be. Keith

Helped load the complete drive line out of the convertible and the eng/trans out of the hard top and they are on their way to the Chicago area. I hope they live on in some form or other in the future,

The gentleman who bought them is restoring a 51 Convertible and wants a full oil pressure engine with a powerglide that has kick down and a 3:55 rear. He wants the engine bay to look original so this should be perfect for him. Late model mechanics with early style head and valve cover. Gosh, I hope it works out well for him.

Yeah, It just took a tree and a power pull down about 1/2 mile from the house.

Be safe.

Front bumper is at Airline Plating being chromed and then I'm gonna stop $$$$$$ for a while.

I'm testing some camera brackets for action cams. A friend works for Bracketron, and gave me several window, rollbar, and rare earth magnetic brackets to try. So I'm going to be taking videos from inside and out side the car when I make passes, so they'll have them for their use in advertising. Once I'm back home I'll upload them to youtube and post the links here.
