4 hour work day for me at the shop. Used the time to do a valve body swap on a '01 Jetta 1.8t auto .... I successfully installed a transbrake on the car .... that however wasn't my intention.

Its in 2 gears at once in park, all other gears (R/N/D/2/1) are forward gears.... they all seam to be first gear.

I have it torn back down most of the way. Tuesday I'll actually get the VB back out and see whats up.... but part of me wants to take it out for a test drive the way it is just for the fun of it.

Got the gasser out for another sunny dry day of cruising! Then stopped by the parts store and picked up a cigarette lighter outlet. Need one in the gasser for emergency cell phone charge, etc. So I built an aluminum plate and hid it under the dash with opening down in case I need a charger outlet. Hooked it to a spare switch so I can toggle it off too.

Ok Pugs. This certainly requires more explanation.:drunk:

Must be a leak between an intake port and the water jacket at the intake gasket.

If you've ever worked on a TPI, you'll know changing an intake gasket is not as easy as popping off the carb and moving the alternator, then unbolting the intake. AAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!:pain:

I will check the oil first. If antifreeze is not getting in the oil, I will try a can of BARS LEAKS and see what happens.

Edit: Oh-oh. The pic below shows its a long way for coolant to travel. I have had this happen on a 455 OLDS and I managed to stop the leak. Maybe the port was closer to jacket on the OLDS. This is not looking good at all. I wonder if I blew a head gasket on start up?

Oh happy day, Ohhhhhhh happy day!

Glad to hear it, nothing sucks more than re-dos before the fringing sun goes down on your work. Grrr

Speaking of re-dos I get to go and rent an industrial sized snake and get up on my roof to hopefully clear up (pardon the pun) my washer drain issue. :(

I had a few hours this morning to work on my 56 so I cut off the old leaf spring saddles from my rear axle so I could weld on the new ones. Then I boxed in the back part of the frame and did a C notch for some added axle clearance. After mounting the axle to the mono leafs, it looked like it could some some extra room.

I added a vacuum reservoir on my T-bucket. It seems to help.

I need to do something for the brakes in my Gran Sport, I am thinking that damn cam just doesn't provide enough vacuum. It's my next project.

Today I had a Pugsy day, I SOLVED my problem with my washer draining! WHOO HOO. I went and rented the big boy and went up on the roof and put 70 feet of snake into that bad boy. Ran a load of wash on high water level and it drained perfectly! WHOOO HOOOO the hell of the drain is over!

Kudos for going down through the vent stack. I would never have thought of that.

Shades of MartinSr's washing machine wars. I spent half the day (the part where I was NOT watching the final NASCAR race of the year) cleaning the fins and etc under the fridge.
Yowzaa!
It is astonishing how much *&%$#*! there was under there and how much quieter the fridge runs now! Likely gonna save me a bunch in power costs, too, 'cause it'll be so much more efficient!

Took 2 hours with compressed air, vacuum cleaner, back to air blow, vacuum up more junk, repeat. Gotta make a note to do it once a year instead of about 5-6 years since I did it last!
