matt167 The pre '81 beams can be heated and bent. After '81, beams were cast and not forged and cannot be bent. I used the entire front frame from a 1994 Ford Ranger ( Twin I beam ) on my scratch built, rather than fabricate my own frame. It would have been tough to figure out the angles.

Irelands child Yes they can - but I strongly suggest that you do a site search. There are several folks that have tried these but with little lasting success. There are 3-4 threads you can look at for information -

Twin I-beam Ford front axels used on street rods

Can the Ford twin I-beam front axels, if used on a street rod, be heated and dropped in the same way that the early Ford straight axels are dropped to lower ride heigths on Street Rods?
