Favorite El Camino's

Well I loved my 65, 350 / 4 speed. The 66 I had didn't stay around very long, got traded for some concrete work and a carport. The 67 was housed in the carport, 327 / 3 on the tree. My 83 Cabellero had a spot in the garage. ( until it was stolen from my wifes workplace. I may get another....

ProStreetRob IMO nothing will ever beat a 70 Chevelle SS 454 as a Car or Elky.
68 - 72 in general are all amazing although it's hard to argue with the look of a 59, especially Bryan's

But I also have a soft spot for the 67 and mine was truly amazing, I sold it some months back and it's in Germany now but man was it Bad *****

Ok maybe they didnt come with Ferrari Paint a ZZ572's and a Tremec TKO,
but they should have because having 620/650 is a must in a street car, LOL ......

7nomad8 Favorite El Camino ? ? ? Make mine a FIFTY_NINE. Ooooh Yeah ! ! ! With a 409, four speed.

Reasons ? Who needs a reason to like a 59 . One of the most extravagantly styled autos. Nearing the end of an era. And I think the bed was one of the biggest.

Too Many Projects I have a Silverado and 3 Chevelles...why own an Elky .....

cozwurth I'd say my favorite Elky is a '70. But then, I guess I'm a little biased towards the '70 since the SS Chevelle I have now was my first ride, as in home from the hospital when I was born. Dad had a couple of '72 Elky's, and a '75 GMC Sprint SP. That peg-legged '75 Sprint was loaded, it had a 400 4bbl, TH400, swivel buckets, console shift, pretty much all the bells and whistles, except for a posi. Slow? Yeah, it was slow. Slow and very thirsty. I'd love to have that one back, though. Found out later that GMC made only about 500 Sprint SP's in '75. I had the shift timing down so close that I could make it sound and look like a 3 speed manual.

idrivejunk Oops, forgot my whys.

1970 most beautiful because it would look best with painted bumpers and cowl hood.

1968 for me because I dig the front end and vent windows, plus I had a 68 Malibu whose life was cut short, back in oh... '83.

I got the 76 because it was the best Camino around after a hail storm filled this bodyman's pockets and I had coin. Way more practical and comfortable than the fullsize trucks I had been driving. But it was slow as molasses in November.

idrivejunk I'll play new guy thread revival. In my humble and common opinion, best looking year- 1970.

Make mine a 68 please, like this at-work project-

Only one I've had was this '76 and I loved it. Hated to see it go. That was my daily driver from about 05-09.

TucsonJay '59!

One-of-a-kind, outrageous, unforgettable styling!!!

The '409 suggestion is perfect for that model!

BuzzLOL Any new people want to chime in on this old favorite vehicle?

The simple classic lines of the little 1964 El Camino are hard to beat:

But they can be ruined:
