Too Many Projects Looks like a 2 cycle diesel that only fires when the flywheel rpm gets low enough. Usually water cooled by water in a jacket around the cylinder.

Dave57210 If that's what I think it is, then "how it works" involves black magic, sorcerer's spells, a wizard and secret incantations as well as Di-lithium crystals and anti-matter.

496CHEVY3100 I tried to correct the post above but cant edit it,,

you are correct about disc brakes, the rear end and front parts were from an Impala which had drum brakes,it had many other options but the Posi Traction was not one of them,,funny thing the 6 cyl and the small blocks were avalible with it and the L79 small block was rated at only 25 HP less,.

Since they weren't available on any Chevrolet yet, you would be right.

Actually IF that is a REAL Z15, it couldn't be had with a number of options i.e. A/C, bench seat, automatic trans, or, I "think" power steering.

boothboy That Brian guy, he knows his Concepts!

GM first used the rear split window on their 1956 Oldsmobile Golden Rocket concept and not a lot more. Perhaps the rear tailfins came back on a 1962 Caddy but they were headed that way anyhow. When you look at Concept cars you can pick out future styling points. GM used that styling two years late on a 1958 Corvette Styling Prototype. Almost but rather ugly.

Everyone loves the 1963 Split window Vette. Where did the inspiration come from?

The 1956 Olds Rocket.
