This pic reminded me of my model car building days. This is about what the floor boards for those models looked like. They were soooooo much easier to work on and customize. A lot of engines and wheels would interchange and switching from bench seat to buckets was a breeze. You could completely build a car from opening the box to complete finish in as little as one day. It's a shame we can't build the real ones the way we want them that fast.

They're not carbs, they're TBIs (work in progress) made by a local guy named Guy Henson. Here's a video of a functional set on a different flatty:
