|1971BB427||Reach in and wipe the pinion gear clean enough to put a mark on one tooth with a white crayon. Then turn it and count from your mark. Same for the ring gear.|

|vinniekq2||If you have trouble counting the pinion gear,look at the side of the ring gear.Most of them have the two numbers stamped on the edge like 41-11|

|big gear head||Count the teeth on the ring gear and the pinion gear. Divide the number on the ring gear by the number on the pinion gear and that is your ratio. 41/11=3.73...|

I know it's a pain, but pop the cover and count the teeth.
Only way to be sure of the ratio.

1971 Camaro Diff ID
1971 Camaro base model. 10 bolt diff. I can not identify the diff. Has a number on the rear N then below 1285542. Passengers side stamp GO26 2 or G026 2. I have tried the internet but can not dial in on the right info.
What diff....what ratio? Does anyone have any ideas?
