Well, just had a guy come look at a sbc 1pc rms long block I have for sale locally and I expected him to check some stuff. He asks for a tape measure and measured the bellhousing and spacing of the bolt holes on the oil pan, both sides.

Then said he needs to check some stuff and he'll get back with me.

Oh, and he already told me this was to replace a sbc that he already installed and it cracked.

Of all the **** he could have looked for the spacing on the bellhousing and oil pan bolt holes was the two things he felt was most critical.

i'm thinking he's was doin some major BS'n and needed a way out for some reason.. that'd b the last think i'd need to know, and don't even know why i'd want to... oh well...
he was only there for less than 5 minutes though, and he drove 40 minutes just to check that? I was ready to go through it with a fine tooth comb, and I thought maybe the guy will just buy it after giving it a quick look since I'm very low on the price, but he measured something that is universal on all sbc's AND did it with a tape measure he borrowed from me.
