vinniekq2 usually 4 degrees more timing will add 100 rpm or more,,,,many factors.

GMC boogie I appreciate the reply. I agree, head flow numbers would be a factor.

vinniekq2 one cam is split pattern,slightly smaller (shorter intake duration) they are very close to each other. The extra few degrees intake might allow more air in,both will flow about the same out. split duration cams usually help heads with weak exhaust ports.
no answer can be given accurately,the heads flow chart might help with the math.

How would these 2 cams differ/act

Hydraulic roller 222/228 274/280 .494/.494 lift 110 LSA 110 ICL 57 overlap intake closes 67 ABDC

Hydraulic roller 228/228 280/280 .494/494 lift 110LSA 107 ICL 60 overlap intake closes 67 ABDC


Curious how these cams would act compared to each other in the same engine. Same intake closing point,3 different overlap,one installed straight up and the other 3 advanced,single pattern,dual pattern.

10.3 CR 383 SBC Vortec heads 6 inch rods.
