|dwwl||I'm not real good at these tranys, I know just enoght to get them to work real good and beff them up, but it comes to how they realy, realy work, i would not claim to be an expert. I know what I have to do to study up to get it better. It was an easy switch from the 350 to the 200 4r. Now i've got the best of both worlds from my toy, low gear power and lower rpm for highway driving. Just doing another one for a spare in case i tear this first one up. I intend to drive this toy hard.|

Primary difference in separator plates , that I am aware of is the converter clutch valve in the v-body.
If the v-body has the converter clutch valve, the hole is in one location... No clutch valve assembly, the hole in the separator plate is located in different spot.
those holes are location mostly center of the plate.
there was an optional hole more towards the rear of the plate. Small in size for a pressure switch that was not used on all 200-4r trans

|dwwl||I'm just buildilng another one for the fun of it, that is when i noticed a difference in the seperator plate in my parts transmission that i picked up. My first one came out of a 86 monte non-ss with hp 305 motor. I rebuilt with red clutches and bilgger valves. 10 vane relieved hardened pump. I upped the clutch count in forward, direct, overrun and fourth clutch pacts. also put in wider band. Put this in my 1977 concours nova hatchback. I have just loved it. It has worked just great with my 3.73 gears with 26inch tall tires. I had so much fun building the tranny that I bought one more 86 monte to rebuild for a extra. But i got this one that is a 200 4r but its got a different seperator plate. It looks just like the rest of them, but the one hole is just off a little. Just thought someone might know why???? Oh,forgot to mention that im put a shift kit in it with the bigger servo.|

200 4r question seperator plate
Im in the process of rebuilding a second 200 4r and noticed while looking at some of my parts, that i have one seperator plate that is different. I believe it came out of the older 200 4r that i am using for just parts. It has notches on the one edge and the one hole is in a dilfferent location. Other than that, all the holes are exactly the same. Also looking for anyone who has done the doulbe feed on the 200 4r and how ilt worked out.
