I was wanting to build another set of lake style headers but out of stainless steel. Does anyone know if there is someone who makes a cone or entire weld up kit?
I know there are stainless bends and tubes available in header kits but the cones do evade me..That may need to be a custom piece from a local fabricator..
I have some SS 060 tube, 2 1/2 Dia that I was thinking of making my own cones from, cut a long triangle out then use several radiator hose clamps to pull it down to a cone and tack it. Stainless tends to grow clumps on the underside of the weld if you don't purge the area, seal it up the ends with foil air conditioning duct tape then fill with argon. I have a double flow meter for my tig, one for welding and one to control the purge gas flow.
