They look good but remember when you blow a line or a bag.. If it lay's frame,, You won't be moving it..Me and my son was coming home from a show,, On a three lane hwy. (One way) When we saw two young guy's leaning on their truck in the middle lane of the hwy ON THE GROUND !!!! They was stuck there.. Couldn't get a jack under it, Couldn't push it off the hwy either.. They was stuck there...So keep these things in mind when you do it.. 1'' off the ground will still roll and still look like it's laying frame.. When I set this one up for my son.. He wanted it to lay frame...
I reminded him of them two young guy's stuck on the hwy.. He said do what you think Dad !!!!
So I set this one up for him aired down it look's to be laying frame.. But it's about a 1'' off the ground... On a good hwy.. He can run aired down if he wanted too... But I said don't do it...
Setting in the grass you would think it's laying frame..But it's not..

Thank you for all of your replies. I am still thinking about what to do. I have already installed 2.5" drop spindles, and cupped the lower control arms 2.5" as of now my front crossmember is about 4" off the ground @ ride height. I was thinking by z'ing the frame an inch or 2 would help the front clearance to 5-6" but still be able to lay frame without cutting up the body. I am actually only using a c10 frame but the body is a 53 IH R110. I was out of it when I wrote my first post sorry for confusing anyone by not mentioning it right away. But I figured out (using other sites) that if I explained what I was building right off the bat NO ONE would respond or I would get a TON of dumb responses criticizing what I am doing. So as of right now my running boards are even with the lowest dip of the frame and when layed out they are about 1.5 - 2" off the ground and I would like them to be on the ground when parked. (I personally LOVE that look on classic trucks). Again sorry but I was trying a different approach to get some answers. And I think I got the answer I was looking for.

With the points brought up I am thinking your may be better off to simply channel the body and bed over the frame. The only difference is you loose some head room, but those are pretty tall cabs and it shouldn't be an issue.
Look at it this way, the points Randy brought up about all the mods you have to make to rad support, inner fenders and all that still have to be done if you channel it, but channeling the cab and bed is a lot less engineering challenging than Zing the frame so maybe it would be a better call to "swap" the work of zing the frame to channeling the cab and bed?
Just an idea thrown out there.

I haven't done it on this truck you have. But I have done it to many I have built..Other chassis's.. The thing it will changes is the section you Zeed will touch the ground much faser then the rest..(The lower section of the frame)

|Pervsrodshop||I have actually thought about all the things you brought up. I have put alot of thought in to it already. And yes it is bagged but when aired out the lower control arms hit the ground first, I would like the the section under the cab that dips low to be on the ground for a more level look. What I am wondering if anyone has done this and can actually tell me if by doing this you gain ground clearance at the front or if it stays the same?|

If you Z the frame... It will change a lot of things.. The motor will sit higher,The rad will be higher,Bumper brackets will be higher,, A lot of things to look at when you start to Z one... Inner fenders will have to be lifted as well.. Think about this... If you Z the front This means your lowering the cab on back, And The front will remain the same... Now you have to lower the whole front Cap to meet up with the cab again...Putting everything under the hood higher... It can be done... But just keep all this in mind.. You say it is bagged.. Doesn't it sit low enough aired down ???
Keep in mind there is a lot of parts out there to get it down in the grass.. Without Z-ing the frame..

Z'ing a bagged c10 frame ride height?
Whats up? I have been reading these threads for a while and they have been very helpful. This is my first time posting so any help would be awesome!
I am wondering if anyone has z'ed a c10 frame on bags? I think I only need to "z" it an inch maybe 2 to get to where I want it. My main question is after you Z it I am thinking that my ride height will be lower, correct? I am new to bagged trucks and frame work. I mainly want it Z the frame to get lower when layed out but not lower at ride height I would actually be happy if I was able to gain an inch or 2 of crossmember to ground clearance by Z'ing the frame. I have looked in to aftermarket crossmembers already and I am not in the market for one of those. Let me know your thoughts.
