harposrepair The pic in question has a hump-back trunk. All the MB pics I looked at does not. Also that spare tire holder on the trunk lid looks like it's been added on. The top does look like it's been chopped some.

boothboy I'm not saying that the mystery car is a 1951 MB 170. What I am saying is that the basic design elements are there. If you look at the front wheels you can see that the car has been rodded to some degree. I think the roof has been re-worked, the trunk latches have been moved, possibly the rear fenders have been re-designed or came from something else. I do think this car started its life as a MB 170 of some vintage.

MARTINSR BB, the hard part that the photo doesn't show is how high up the rear fender is. Unless the hot rod one has been sectioned or something, I that MB doesn't come close. Check out how it's very "elegant" look with the fenders being all the way up to the body line below the windows! Very "Coach" build looking like a Rolls or something. It reminds me of the MB that use to carry Hitler around or something.

496CHEVY3100 That looks close with the absence of a rear glass , I was kinda thinkin about a Mercedes Rat Rod,,i sold a Mercedes couple momths ago with a All Aliminum V8 that runs great ,he only needed body panel ,something to think abot ,Thanks for the help ,

some one ask a question.
boothboy Yes, I think that's very possible. Take a look at this 1951 MB 170 and you can see a lot of your mystery car. The roofs been massaged a lot but most of the elements are there.
