Is this cerakote? f not what is it and how long has it been on? That is close to what I am looking for. They are supposed to be raw cast, which I can do with sandblasting, but as we all know they will rust and look terrible. The owner of this car is spending a lot of money and I want something that will stay on. The cerakote seems to be the way I need to go from what I have read on here and their site. What color of paint do you want? Is factory cast silver looking or black? Eastwood has a cast iron ceramic coating and an aluminum ceramic coating. Check out their website. TLC Cast Iron Ceramic Coating 4oz

Cerakote seems to be good stuff and cures on the car so no need to stink up the wifes oven. Havent tried it yet but been crawling the sites for info. I am going to use there ceramic coatings on my pistons domes and valve heads.
I have tried every kind of paint from cast blast to the vh stuff with super high temps on the can. But they just flake off when it gets hot.
Use a satin color gloss looks lumpy on cast unless your really good with the paint job. Satin just looks satin even if you blob it on with a box of old glue brushes.
If you want them chrome or gold or some other high gloss color use high temp powder coat. You will have to send them put for the trickier coatings. Gold or chrome will be the most expensive. Matching car or engine color will be the most difficult to get right pick a color that is not directly attched to the manifolds so any color difference will not be so easy to see.

|crownver||I read somewhere where rubbing on graphite works well, I believe in Carcraft or somewhere. Turns it sort a dark grey. Rubs off too, but easy to put a little more on to keep things looking good. Can't remember if the article said it stopped rust though.|

|Richiehd||I thought you were talking intake, but after reading your post again, Im pretty sure you are talking exhaust manifold. Either way, Eastwood might be my first stop. The 2 part engine paint is awesome, on blocks and intakes. You'll have to do some more research on the exhaust.|

What are you guys using to paint/coat manifolds that actually stays on? I am looking for a factory cast look for an original restoration I am doing and I have not had much luck in the past with any kind of paint staying on very well, but I am sure there is something out there. So I am here looking for suggestions and input. As always thanks in advance.
