I built the equivalent to a ZZ383 crate engine and I just went look at it and my big block. They both look just like yours. It is hard to tell with a carb and air cleaner but I don't have a firewall yet so I looked from the back on my SBC and my BBC is on a stand with no carb so I got to look from both ends and they are clearly leaning just like yours so you are fine.I have over 100,000 miles on the BBC and never had trouble.:thumbup::thumbup:
Speedy...thanks for looking at yours... I have built many small blocks and NEVER noticed it before! I guess the intake boss under the dist must be slanted as well or it would pour oil....
Yes,I had noticed it once before but didn't want to rely on my memory. The intake boss and the bore in the block all have to be machined to this angle or it would not work.It is just how SBC and BBC are made.
