1971chev 3.08 gears a not so good converter and 4,050 lbs with me in it.

vinniekq2 what was the 60' time? 2.2 ish? does the fuel delivery system have enough volume? should run a high 13 with 96 mph.Its no where near a 12 second car,though we have a few Malibu's that run 12.1s at 102-104 mph.Those cars really launch though.

what gear ratio and converter are you using? You want to "drag" race,you need the drive train to match.

if your car weighs 3300-3400 hundred pounds with you in it,the hp is around 250-275 at the wheels

1971chev I have the 6BTM hooked up just wondering if there is any way to tell if it is pulling timing as it should and also on my vaccum advance should this be hooked to manifold or the carb?

1971chev Im not sure what that lean spot in the beginning is from but is it safe to say I can drop down a couple jet sizes on the secondaries

1971chev I am just waiting for my dyno graph should have it by tonight or early tomorrow. I have been checking on some things on the truck and just now noticed how close my air cleaner lid is to the top of my carb. There is only about 1/8 inch of clearance could this be causing a major problem?

ap72 64cc isn't a bad choice if you plan on running race fuel or ethanol. Maybe you are?

The cam isn't small for street power, it'll definitely limit your peak but with good heads headers and a blower 500hp should still be attainable.

If you're running ethanol I think you may have a pretty strong street runner. Are you running ethanol? If not I'd switch to it.

ap72 Off the bat unless you're running really high boost your timing is probably a hair too low, but you'll probably need better fuel if you put it where it should be.

Jets seem really big to me but I may be wrong, it's been a while since I messed with a Holley.

1971chev Front jets are 81 and rears are 97, timing is 12 initial and 32 all in at 2500.,,ill have the dyno graph on Tuesday blower ratio is 1.72

OP, F' bird gave you some good advice there with the cam, head swap, header size and explained clearly the reasons for them all. You went out got the wrong cam, wrong cc heads and wrong headers???

Your DCR is going to be up even more now that little cam, limiting the amount of boost ya can utilise with pump gas???

Why you ask advice , get advice from one of the sharpest tuners on the forum, and then ???. ..

ap72 Post a pic of the dyno curve and tune. What's your timing set at? Af ratio? The cam is fine with 1.6 rockers.
