Well yesterday I did the pre start after winter storage prep LOL cranked it over and the fuel line was leaking under the stainless braiding at the carb LOL so I had to run to the parts store and pick up 6 inches of fuel line fixed it and started it and washed it ( and no batterys for the CAMERA LOL !!) LOL Terrible rain and high winds and flood warnings here today and large hail about an hour ago, and cold and rain forecast for the rest of next week and cold! So I could have put off starting the beast for a while LOL

Be glad your busy with work , There are many people out of work

painted jester At Idle Vinnie: I can hear the pop corn popping even though the audio is poor LOL

I have never heard a recording sound like the actual car being recorded LOL Its just missing something !!! It doesn't give you that resonance you feel in your chest standing by the car at idle or the ground pounding you feel having it drive by you in the pits LOL

If anyone who builds a car has fun with it and is proud of his build !!! Its a successful venture But if a person is trying to satisfy everyone else they have failed miserably and its not fun !!! I don't care what cam, heads, headers, mufflers, etc, etc, you use if you have fun building it, that car becomes part of you like your right arm!!!

Its the cars we old guys sold in time of great need and have never forgiven ourselves for letting it go!!!!!!

vinniekq2 I promise to do a real video in the spring/summer. I am really busy at work atm until June.I feel I should do a proper video to actually justify my car. It is what it is,nothing special. I built enough power to make it a handful and to spin the tires if required. I tried to match the parts well as people like Richard, insist everyone else does when building an engine.
I sure dont want to be considered a comic book reader, lol. I do push more racy type parts, but thats the way I like my engines.
I really appreciate any opinions, good or against what I do.

spinn Yeah but you could be in the proximity of the noise your trying to record. That is a very deceptive recording. The other one was much better.

V, the engine deserves a proper presentation.

You have been on here a bunch. You obviously know something. The guys that ask a question and leave, meh. You have participated and seem like sociable fellow, I am sure a good recording would not be a bad thing.

vinniekq2 Mark, That video was taken with my phone. I am learing and will try to make a decent video in the spring. Any imput both positive and negative will be used. Also, any ideas will be incorporated if possible.
Thanks for the comment

spinn V , your other video is much better. The mic placement or quality is poor. If you could get the mic near the tailpipe that might help a little too.

vinniekq2 file fit rings are sometimes as close as massey ferguson tractors, seems some of their engines are close in bore to a lot of passenger engine bores. There used to be a cross over book available.

Been real busy here too! Been building a lot of engines the past month or so, and just finished a '58 chevy truck, 235 6 cyl. last week. couldn't find file gap rings so I called Hastings and they made up a set for me,

Now I have an old Dodge Coronet to wire, and a couple of more Mopar engines to build a 426 max wedge and a 392 Hemi. So Ill still be busy lol
