gearheadslife get some truck cap foam tape and put that between the cup and hood and bottom bracket and hood..
trim as needed..

spinn Yeah, LEDs. That would be easy.

Looking at the clamp base, and it might distort the hood vents.

Would double faced hurricane tape work to mount the base? I figure we use it on mouldings and trim.

the autometer procomp water(liquid filled) will be fine out on the hood as they are sealed 100%)
paint, engine paint.. after painting put in oven at 300* for 30 minutes..
when wife isn't home.. lol
prep and a bake will make a ton of difference
illumination, I use l.e.d's less likely to fail

What is the besy way to mount a gauge on the hood? Are they sealed for weather, what to look out for?

I was looking at sandwiching the C mount with 2 soft rubber cards on the rear of the hood vents by the windshield. A couple of screw and nut through the vent slot to secure it as a base. Then use a normal gauge cup with a installed mechanical gauge , like vacuum, boost, etc.
