Rodnit Agree Brian!

Speaking of dumping a bunch of $ in a 'glass rod. Too purty to drive........ A lot of money to let it sit in the garage..... Or, showroom floor.....

Rodnit Easiest way to tell is the one piece body. There are no seams at the fenders. Street Beast/CMC were the only ones the made the one piece. I believe Fiber Fab(early years, they cranked back up in 2003 with the Valkyrie. Not sure they're still in business tho) was another. All 3 companies are the same...

Yep, skies the limit what a person wants to spend building them.... The only thing is how thick is the builders wallet. Just won't get near the money back unless there is an uninformed buyer.

I wouldn't touch them either.......

hcompton Yes i saw the ford. Its a mess as well. those both look like insurance buy backs. I think he is trying to triple his money if not more.

What makes you think its a street beast? Might be but must have 20 kits in that shape. Not like its not one of the most common kits. Either way the person buying it will have no clue just pockets deeper than brains in most cases. they sell wildly all over the place in price depending on how the kits are finished. Not just street beast but all of them are pretty cheap kits that get tons of work you can easily spend 100K to build a kit like that or 25K to do it at home with cheap parts. Like on old camaro motor and other common stuff. or you could spend twice that on them. Just getting a good car out of it. But many second buyers have no clue and will pay what they can afford.

You can compare it to a boyd or fuse and have the seller pretending like its just as good. A nice paint job can hide a lot of mess.

But it has zero value since it will cost more to repair than may to replace. But would not be surprised if the car is sold to some poor sucker for that high price. sad but very true.

I would not touch either of them.

Lot better kits out there that will end with a better car.

Don't see it fetching $70k, it's a Street Beast. Not that it's all bad, I have one... Most I see them go for is $40k.

Needs a hood, deck lid, dash, doors "may" be salvageable. But you still have a burnt cab. Complete interior, wiring, steering column, all glass, etc. May be able to clean up the firewall and then put a plate on it. Lots of work in the engine compartment/engine.....

Must be an older build. The front end looks rough....

Idk, may just pull the one piece body off and pitch it...

Insurance must have totaled it? Is he trying to double dip?

Or, did he buy it for nothing and is trying to flip it?

Just checked out his site. He has a steel '34 Ford that's all twisted up. He must try and flip cars. But he wants $21.5 for that mess.....

I also liked the wreck burnt falcon for 4 grand. Not sure its ever going to reach that price unless it was in a lot better shape.

I love to look at that site and think that people really thought this was going to be a great idea..... but have looked at most of that site. Some strange ones there. Ever want to build something nutty and need inspiration thats a great place to start.

You would be more amazed to find that many kit car companies actually sell the same bodies and the mold just swap from failed shop to failed shop. Lots of companies out there. I think its because of shipping if you cant get close to the car without a semi and two weeks travel time its hard to buy a 20K project in parts. I cant spend that kind of cash without seeing it first hand.

I like a lot of the kit cars some really cool cars out there. But the best ones are really popular like the Factory 5 its an amazing car they have a older hot rod coupe a few cobra replicas a nice daytona copy and one really cool super car that takes a LS v8 mid engine mount and all the goodies you can get.

I love this daytons coupe kit its got to be one of the coolest on the market and has a roof. Cost is an issue and you can almost build the GTM for the same money but it has a cool old ferrari like fibe thats seems to grow on ya.

Type 65 Coupe - Factory Five RacingFactory Five Racing

Of course there 818 car is more like a nissan 350 than a kit worth spending that kind of money on. But most are built for racing classes to complete and makes power in the range so your not getting smoked by 100K dollar porshces but still not very hot looking to me.

I have seen so many kit cars and the ones that are really bad all have a few things in common they are built on another cars chassis. fiero and VW both are not going to make a world class race car. No real point to having a lambo with a feiro engine and chassis. not the best thing to have to admit.

But kits like factory five that come with there own custom chassis that is stiff and well made can be great cars. But you can quickly see how fast a custom car company can take a dive. No body that spends 20K on a kit is going to be happy with crappy car in the end.

But one thing that is not an issue is fitment. Yep its true they dont fit together like legos its a **** to build any kit. Some are easier but that because they come more finished at the factory the cheapest kits are popped from the mold and onto the truck but these also take the most amount of work to get hoods and doors to line up. Not that its a bad parts its just you took on extra work to get a cheap kit. Of course the cars like this that end up at body shops on a truck are so many hours to build the cost is way over the price of buying a fitted kit.

whinny I was at a new business development recently and I couldn't believe there were 8 with handicapped parking, there wasnt a hope in hell you'd get 2 let alone 8 in those parks. I just thought pc brigade gone nuts. The office was on the first floor, up about 15 grate steel steps. No one with a big handicap is going up there.

redhed1955 I was managing a store when handicap parking became law in this area and the whole purpose of the law was so the spaces were wide enough to facilitate people with wheelchairs so they could wheel up to side of car or van accessible ramps. And it was easier to widen the spot closest to entrance than reline the whole lot also cheaper. Then the politicians piled it on to get reelected.

I wish I was there to see that. Yesterday two teenagers pulled into the last handicapped spot (I have a handicap card since my back surgery)Obviously driving their parents car. The cop just sat there never did a thing. but if I park next to the door so my wife (handicapped) don't have to walk so far the cop runs right up to me telling me to move.

I turned in my plates because I didnt need them most of the time. But certainly need them some days. But would not assume anything where medical issues are in the mix. Never know how things go some days are better than others for some conditions.
You have a very good point there! I know if I could afford it I would build my friend Steve a hot rod that's for sure!
