65 tail lights

Yes I agree , I got them on , the guy I bought it from has just made a mess of wires under there , he has a newer style 10 amp fuse on the wire to the original fuse box , so ofcourse it was fried , I put a 25 amp in there and there back on , so I gotta re wire it right soon , but thanks for your input I really appreciate it!!!!

EOD Guy If the dash lights are working...... The fuse box is prob connected. Get a test light and test the brown and yellow wires at the tail lights.

If they have power...... it's a bad or corroded socket or the ground is bad. I'd clean the ground and sockets 1st and retest.

If they don't have power........ Find the brown and yellow wires under the dash, I'm not sure, but they should be run behind the driver's side kick panel. follow them all the way to the light switch, and brake light switch, looking for any breaks etc........ then using the test light, check the output from the light switch and brakelight switch. if you have power out of the switches...... you have a break in the wires leading to the rear of the car.

If they don't have power...... Use your test light and check the fuses. If they have output it's either the feed wires from the fusebox.

If they don't have power...... disconnect the battery and pull the fusebox apart and make sure the terminals are still connected on the back side of the box

I don't think it's the fusebox, because your dash lights work.

poncho62 If the rear signal lights are working, the problem must be somewhere up under the dash/fusebox area....Signal lights and brake lights use the same part of the rear 1157 bulbs......I am reall suspecting the connection at the fuse box.......The fuse box splits in 2 halves on each side of the firewall.....make sure it is pushed together. There is a bolt that goes through the center of it to hold it together

Jason1965 And looks like the rear tail light wiring is new , so get a test light and start from there to under the dash ?? The head lights work and there's also a voltage gauge that I noticed is not workin no more , but the turn signals work in the back just no tail or brake light , man idk , I'm not that good at electrical but ill go and look and see what I can ????

Jason1965 Yes the dash lights are all working

poncho62 If neither the tail or brake/signal lights are working, I would suspect a ground at the back or maybe the whole harness is cut. I would start at the lights with a tester and work your way forward.

On those cars, the taillights are on the same circuit as the dash lights. Are the dash lights working?

Maybe the connection at the fusebox has been knocked apart, since he has it held with tape....just a couple of guesses
