Dual superchargers thread
I figured I would start a new thread on this. I snapped a couple pics of how its put together. Pretty simple to do with just a chop saw and welder.

Ohh yeah one more thing, the snout oil seal, they wear out and start to leak. They make 2 kinds. A rubber seal and a viton. I don't recommend the viton, its harder and will actually wear a groove in the steel shaft. The rubber also seals better on worn parts.
The seals are also off the shelf parts. You just need to know the numbers and where to find them at industrial supply houses.

|vht||Are they making a better Pred carb now? I know yrs ago they were hard to get dialed in and when you did they kinda had a mind of their own on how they were going to idle. This sounds like a cool build. Friend of mine had a Grand Prix, 3.8 work car he played with. It had alot of miles, pretty rough looking, but wouyld run high 12's slicker than hell. You ought to have seen some of the looks he got when he would smoke a newre Mustang.|

About the only thing you really need to look at are the rotors/case. If they are scratched toss it. The most common problems are as follows.
1. Plastic coupler inside the snout wears out, causing a clunking sound. New ones go from $15-25 always replace them if you have the blower opened up.
2. Front snout bearing, then second snout bearing. Easy to replace and cheap. You just need a shop press.
3. Rear rotor bearings. Depending on the model you may need to drill and tap the blower housing, add zerk fittings and pump the bearing out with grease. not hard to do. Bearings cost about $3-4 ea.
4. Front rotor bearings. These can be difficult to replace. Sometimes the housing will break when they are pressed out. 95% of the time these bearings are fine and don't need to be touched.

I just used steel plate and square tubing to make an adapter that fit on the RPM Air-gap intake.
I actually did make an adapter to run a single carburetor on it but the gas pooled and I gave up on the idea. I needed to get it running and just took it all off. I'm defiantly going to get it going again one of these days. For me, I enjoy the fabrication end and hate the tuning.
These blowers have LOTS of potential on 4 bangers, straight sixes and V-8's. I used to rebuild and sell Eaton blowers till the pick N pull tripled their prices. Everything inside uses cheap off the shelf parts, bearings, seals ect.
The design probably isn't the best but keep in mind I asked for help on many message boards and most of the time all I got was go buy a kit.

Great job . How hard was the base plate to fabricate? What did you use?
Most of these eaton blowers are plentiful and cheap. Nice to see people using them.
The edelbrock carbs sound like a good idea to me too.
