On my 50 chevy pickup I had as a kid with bbc and 4 speed We used a 12 bolt rearend out of a 70 chevelle that had trailing arms origionally.
I used the existing mounting mounts on top of 3rd member to run homemade control arms to a cross member I added to frame,then I mounted the axle on top of the stock reworked truck springs.
That truck would pull the front tires off the ground 2" and just launch like a damn motorcycle,no tire spin problems.
Cty sheriff lived down the hill from me,we talked regularly!

|71nova355||that ten bolt will hold up to 500 hp. unless your just launching it over n over everyday like at the strip. You just need some suspension or chassis help. like traction bars, caltracs, better springs, spring clamps, 4 link, or the like. whats your plans overall with the truck? weekend warrior, daily, street strip, strip only? I bet we can help you fix the issue for what you want. does it do this under hard braking too?|

|fy54957||running P255/60R15 on the rear right now may have to drop down size a little but we like the way the tires fills up the big fender-same tires that was on it when we had the 350 in it.I'm going out the the other shop and check on the 68 El Camino I have and see what the rear end in it is I had forgot all about that one.I hope it's a 12 bolt but don't know.Like to Thank everyone for the help and replys still need the help|

Now if you are trying to plant the 500 HP you should be shopping for something a bit stouter. A 12 bolt would be nice or, as you stated, a 9" Ford.

I had the old "slapper" bars that were welded to the lowering blocks with a bracket off to the side with the rubber bumper under the spring. I have to tell you, ZERO hop. That sucker hooked up big time.

|496CHEVY3100||As others said leave clamps work,also jegs have old style round traction bars ,look great ,i have a 53 chevy p/u with a 496 big block alum heads ,corvette tripower.Well ever 500 hp ,I cured my wheel hop by lowering pinion angle which preloads it Iam running a 10 bolt at present will be changing to indepengent suspensiom rear 74 vette dana 44 ,newer models have a dana 35 ,will have to see how yhis works,Good luck Good Lookung Truck|

Wheel hop with rear end 1952 chevy truck
We are working on my son 52 chevy truck---Just put the engine in before Christmas 406 SBC-iT'S RIGHT AT 500 HP-WE are running a 10 bolt 8.5 pos rear end 373 gears-It has leaf springs-We are having wheel hop from a dead stand still.From a roll it's spinning the wheels but no wheel hop.The truck had been lowed.The truck was sit up years ago with this rear end before we got.we had a 350 in it before it run great like this but now I see I don't think this rear end can handle the HP.Like to get this one to work if we can for now.Got a lot of $$$$ in the engine,And money is getting a little funny you now.Need some ideas
