|67-4-fun||thanks for the info... i can pick up the block for next to nothing, like $20.. only thing that seems to be wrong with block is the hole in one cylinder.. its a .010 block 4 bolt, i just guessing for cost of sleeve and machine work on that one cylinder for now would cost possibly less than what most around here want for a bare block. and yes the block by the time im done with it will be like new again with new slugs and such. its just an idea nothing ive focus on buying if another better one comes around.. but for $20? lol|

|Irelands child||Keep an eye on Craigslist - you should be able to find complete and running engines for what it would cost to sleeve a common as dirt engine block. The only reason to sleeve an engine is to keep numbers matching or it's a rare engine version like a SOHC Ford or '55 Packard, etc.|

I sleeve blocks with that type damage. Nohing out of the ordinary.
As previously stated. Cost can be a major factor. Block will usually have to be completely over bored because of press fit distortion of adjacent cylinders. Cleaning, Cam bearings/s plugs removed for complete machining chip removal . Figure= Labor
Remove cam bearings/soft plugs, clean block.
Install cam bear/soft plugs.

|BigMo||Its toast.......you can sleeve it.....but why? Usually sleeve is for a bore that is outside tolerance due to overbore, or has deep gouges and the like......but when you have one ventilated, its not really worth the trouble.....|

|prumora1||I have seen blocks that bad or worse being sleeved, but that's usually a non common block. if you figure $85 for sleeve, $20 per bore so just that cylinder is going to cost you $125 and then clean the block and you'll want to make sure the remaining cylinders are true. you may find yourself in a price range of $250 to $300 to fix that block, you should be able to find a stock bore 350 block for a minimum price then go from there, that way its not weaken anywhere. and save some cash.|

sleeving this block
guys i dont much about sleeving blocks, used to be a bad thing but now im sure sleeves have improved... can this one cylinder in this 350 block be sleeved or to much damage? it had a piston break from what the guy said see pic below..
