Any recommendations for spark plugs? My head card casy i need a plug with 3/4" reach. Was thinking about buying a set of Champion RC12YC.

This didn't copy and paste too cleanly but its flow numbers for the patriot 185's. Depending on application a single pattern cam would not be out of the question.

If you go to headbytes.com he had a cylinder head shoot out using pro comps, patriots and brodix. I found it interesting but those heads he has came in last.

if you dont know the flow numbers red
with a less than 70% exhaust flow ratio you still wont ude a dual pattern cam?

I get guys who do this and then want the $6000 trans under warranty.
You slip the clutch. The disc is cheap, and easily replaced.

You will most likely find the most gain by just using the 1.6's on the intakes only.
The exhaust side responds more to duration changes than lift changes.
The changes will be small at best.
You can play with the lash too. start at a cold setting .004" less than the hot lash spec.
If/when trying a bigger lash setting do not get carried away.
You need to change your reference from a how much power for this and that bla bla bla to a reference of actual tested +/- improved performance by trying different stuff like lash and rockers.
That cam is small as cams go and will probabily respond well to running less / tighter lash than spec valve lash if you want horsepower.
less lash results in increased running valve duration. (makes the cam act slightly "bigger")

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead but i figured it would be better than starting a new one. My greed / eternal quest for more power is kicking in and Im now thinking running the 1.6 rockers is a good idea as suggested by F-BIRD.
I have already ordered the cam from summit: Mechanical Flat Tappet 275/281,.505/.520
Howards Cams Mechanical Flat Tappet Camshaft and Lifter Kits CL110102-06 - SummitRacing.com
So I will have the following lifts:
Intake (.505" x 1.0666) - .022 = .517
Exhaust (.520" x 1.0666) - .022 = .533
How much power gain can i expect with this change?
Also below is a picture of my short block ready to go back together. The cam i ordered is on backorder and will probably get here in the 2 week of april.

Summit cams look cheap and use older grinds but really nothing wrong with them. But they are also not the best grind for long life. USally what you are paying for is not quality manufacturing but good design. Go with a good design price is mute once its whiped and the entire engine needs to come apart to clean and replace.

This will surely make your car slower and increase the heat in the clutch and kill it faster. Best to just drop it. I move my foot sideways off the clutch not up. A slipping clutch can be killed in a day one that is dead locked will last its service life.
Drive line shock is best delt with in other ways.

|Landshark928||I would pass on a Chinese cam since USA cams are not much more. Assault line is rebranded Pro Comp. look at Summit brand came if you want to save a buck.|
