|joe_padavano||Here's a thought. Rather than guessing and throwing money at the engine, why not figure out what codes are causing the CEL to come on? That might lead you to the real problem.|

Sounds like a number of things it could be.
Have u check fuel pressure before and after the regulator? The regulator is built into the tbi unit in the back. Rebuild kits are cheap for them. This is a common side effect of the spring being bad. I would start there.
Problem is probably in the TBI unit, maybe injectors..
Intake coolant temp sensor. Especially since it seems to doit once its warmed up. EGR could be clogged. Bad MAP. Bad cats, Maybe? It could be any number of things.

With the limited info I'm just going to throw a couple of things out there.
Have you checked you fuel pressure at start-up and when it starts running bad?
Have you replaced the catalytic convertor with a temporary test pipe?

Issues with 87 tbi 350
Its in a k5 blazer and the symptoms are as follows: Crank up is fine and you can feel real power and torque the first few miles. After you let off the gas and coast the service engine light comes on and she feels like she has about half the power. Pulling my little aluminum boat was pure embarrassing on the freeway. A year or so ago I made a genuine attempt to clear it up and I changed fuel pump, filter, rotor and cap, all plugs, and wires. Still doing it!
