sorry for the confusion. the car has been primered a while ago (from a spray gun), but I have done quite a bit of body work on the nose piece, and just used rattle can to make it look halfway decent.
So basicly, just add the flattening agent to whatever goes on top? Which would be stronger, clear with the flattening, or paint with the flattening? I want something that won't stain or scratch easy. I assume that the clear woudl be stronger, because thats usualy the last coat on the car, right?

everything accept the front bumper cover and passenger fender were sanded down and sprayed with "real" primer, I'm just not sure what type it was :-\
but for the fender and nose cover, sand it all the way down to metal and urethane?
you can clear it with flattening agent for the dull look
this flattening agent, is it something that will be shot on to the car by it self, or does that mix with something?

You will need to remove all the "rattle can" primer before you shoot the whole car with REAL primer, if you expect the REAL primer to hold.

|jwart||i like flat black myself. epoxy primer has to be top coated to seal & uv protection. you can clear it with flattening agent for the dull look, but from same manufacture your primer is from. jwart|

I have been using rattle can primer on my camaro whiel I finish up the body work, but now I would like to keep it all primer.
The problem, is that primer seems to get stained and scratched really easy. Is there any special type of primer that is stronger?
I just want the dull grey look (like the flat black hotrods, only grey)
A friend of mine has a paint gun, and said he would shoot it for me, so it will look better than rattle cans :-)
someone told me that epoxy primer would do the trick. is this correct?
