It cracks me up that I thought he was sending me 4. So I opened up the box pulled them out and took this photo. I then picked the box up and headed to the garbage can and it hit me that the box was heavier than I thought it would be. I had to double check that the box bottom was real thick or something to account for the weight, nope, there was another wheel cover! LOL Glad I double checked.



I can't wait until I get them on some wheels on this truck out in my "styling courtyard" to stand back and look at it.

Now I need to find a set of worn out white walls someone is pulling off some vintage Corvette that I and put on the truck while it's being built.

John, I thank you so much for the covers, that was very nice of you and I really appreciate it.

MARTINSR I got out there for my five minutes (just about literally 5 minutes) and heated up the front window frame portion to straighten out the bend a little to match the roof.



Got that all done and then opened up my box of wheel covers our fabrication master John Long sent me.

We still need to remove the bench seat and carpet and then cut out the floor for the Tremec 5 speed. We need to get it all bolted in and measure for the driveshaft to be made, so I'm hoping we can get to that point tomorrow. He's bringing the motor and rear axle with. He had the Tremec shipped here.

Looks like a fun project.

Too Many Projects I backed my friend's '72 Chevelle into the "operating bay" and started draining the coolant in preparation for an entire drivetrain swap. Then I removed the drive belts, then the fan, shroud, upper hose, etc. etc.

I "tinkered" with it for a while and ended up with this..







Parts in the trunk, on the floor, everywhere...

deadbodyman LOL, I know what you mean...
Heres a few pics of the place that buys and sells the wood any kind of wood you want...The guys bent over backwards to get me just what I wanted and were a big help. All the wood beams are the heart pine, they just resaw them into any thickness boards you want.theres a few more of what it looks like after planning down. I had 2 10' boards and a 14' board all were 14" wide. and around 1 3/4 thick and now theyre just a tad over 1 1/4" thick.these will be stair treads and risers in the staircase Im building ,If I don't screw it up it should be the focal point of the whole house and be that one, over the top, thing that sells the house.

That's very cool that you were able to get the raw material. so you can still see the reddish hue in the heartwood?? wow!! but… but... what do you plan to build with it??

I doubt we drove past each other near Ft Gordon. that would have been ~ 1969 (doubt you were driving yet) and I was just in the stockade there for about 3 weeks . it seems I had a bit of trouble following the orders of certain AH officers. what we have here… is a failure.. to… communicate. we worked it out however. once he got out of the hospital we agreed that I was "unsuited for military service" finally, we agreed on something

Russ, There aren't any trees like this any more the pretty much extinct now. After the civil war the south was broke and left with no resources so the old growth forests were clear cut to extinction.. the conditions to regrow it no longer exist air quality and NO people. most of the wood was sold to the north to build factories, any Old factories up there or along the entire east coast will be full of heart pine in the giant, main support beams and floors because of is strenghth and rot resistance. 2ndroundko Took advantage of my local playground... I mean junkyards half off sale. I bought a 906 headed 350 with the serpentine setup for 260. I figure the roller block alone is worth it even if the heads are cracked. Now I gotta get a carb intake and inline fuel pump.
