I believe that is basically what they do with the 454 powered Boss Hog.

Brian, I think I posted in the Trivia thread a couple of years ago that Homelight used that Crosley block for years to make a 4 stroke outboard boat motor. It was a very solid little motor.

MARTINSR He is pretty slick, between study and connections his ability is out of this world for fabrication stuff like this. It's like he says "If it looked hard to do, you didn't go a good job".

He has learned so much about those little motors, it's wild how they were used in WWII and after.

I want it, I want it!

The Guys here in Chattanooga were making V8-60 powered bikes but they never managed to put a transmission behind it. I could not get excited about a direct drive set up. Clutch but no gears.

Russell has licked that problem. To cool!!!

engine work

Well I finally took the heads off my engine and put the new valve springs in this weekend. thanks for some helpful web sites that i got from the engine forum. never replaced my own valve springs. Got all new parts from Jegs, springs, gaskets etc, almost overnight Fedex great service.
After taking the heads off and the old springs put the new ones then power washed the heads and blew them out, after drying in the sun for a couple of hours painted them with ceramic engine paint on Saturday. Today I cleaned all the old carbon off the valves and chambers then cleaned the cylinder heads and pistons until they looks brand new.
The gaskets from Felpro had an extra coolant hole them that fit my heads but not in the block between the two inner cylinders. Instructions say to mark the hole in the engine and drill it out so i did. Hopefully this will help cool this motor. Adjusted the valves according to instructions torqued everything down and put the intake back on, will finish the rest this week . Also bought a new msd distributor and coil. Not liking the old Mallory. Car show coming up soon and I want to go. Its never ending!!

John long Thanks Guys.

Martha woke up this morning and fixed a pot of coffee. She poured herself a cup and immediately dropped it. For some reason her hand had just gone numb and she could not move it. Her son brought her to the emergency room thinking she was having a stroke but the Dr says no, it was probably a small blood clot.

The feeling and control are back but they are keeping her to run an MRI in the morning.

For now, anyway she seems to be in the clear...Thanks for the prayer and good wishes.
